Speed logs and Doppler speed logs provide accurate vessel speed and distance measurement through water and over ground. EKS Marine Electronics offers electromagnetic speed logs, Doppler logs, and dual-axis Doppler systems for precise maneuvering and navigation.

Accurate speed measurement is fundamental to safe and efficient navigation. Modern speed logs use either electromagnetic induction or acoustic Doppler principles to measure a vessel's speed through water (STW) and, with Doppler technology, speed over ground (SOG).

Electromagnetic speed logs use a sensor flush-mounted in the hull to measure the electromagnetic field generated by water flow. They provide reliable STW measurements but cannot measure speed over ground independently.

Doppler speed logs use acoustic pulses reflected from the seabed or water column to calculate both longitudinal and transverse speed components. This makes them invaluable for precise berthing maneuvers and dynamic positioning operations.

EKS Marine Electronics supplies and services all major speed log brands, providing installation, commissioning, calibration, and technical support services throughout Turkey and internationally.
